‘ALL HANDS ON DECK’: FG UNVEILS THEME FOR NIGERIA’S 65TH ANNIVERSARY

The Federal Government has unveiled “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation” as the official theme for the nation’s 2025 Independence Day festivities.

Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), revealed this in a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja.

He indicated that the theme highlights the necessity for unity, collaboration, and patriotism among governmental bodies, the private sector, civil society, and the citizenry to foster national peace, prosperity, and advancement.

The statement noted that the selected theme signifies Nigeria’s resilience since gaining independence in 1960, emphasizing the importance of building upon past accomplishments while striving for higher aspirations under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Government agencies and partners are anticipated to align their initiatives with the anniversary theme to ensure its message resonates across all facets of national life.

As part of the events scheduled for the 65th Independence celebrations, a Juma’at prayer will take place on Friday, September 26, followed by an interdenominational church service on Sunday, September 28. Additionally, a World Press Conference is set to be held on Monday, September 29, in Abuja.
