Leading boxers have begun to arrive in Lagos in preparation for the eagerly awaited boxing spectacle, “Chaos In The Ring,” scheduled for October 1, 2025—marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebration.
This landmark event is being organized by Balmoral Group Promotions in partnership with AK Promotions and will be held at the renowned Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
During a media briefing, Balmoral Group’s CEO, Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, confirmed the arrival of competitors and officials, priming the atmosphere for a thrilling night of bouts. The feature match will showcase a cruiserweight clash between American talents Brandon Glanton and Marcus Browne.
Other notable matchups on the impressive lineup include: Emanuel Odiase vs Idris Afini – Heavyweight (WBA Africa), Dan Azeez vs Sulaimon Adeosun – Light Heavyweight, Yusuf Adeniji (Nigeria) vs Akimos Annang Ampiah (Ghana) – Featherweight (WBA Africa), and Samuel Takyi vs Fatiu Ijomoni – Lightweight (WBO World Youth).
“Dan Azeez is already in Lagos and training. Marcus Browne and Brandon Glanton will arrive with their teams from the U.S. We also have officials from TalkSPORT, Sky Sports, Ring Magazine, and global boxing bodies arriving, as well as Dr. Debra King Omega, daughter of Muhammad Ali,” Dr. Adamu disclosed during a virtual press briefing.
Dr. Ezekiel emphasized the robust support from the Lagos State Government, observing that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has committed to providing logistical and infrastructural assistance to guarantee the event’s success.
“I met with Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and he is super-excited about this project coming to Lagos and believes it represents what the state stands for. He has given us all the support we need, from the venue to logistics and other essentials that, without them, this event would be impossible,” stated Dr. Ezekiel.
In a cultural addition, leading Afrobeats artists will perform on fight night, delivering to fans a distinctly Nigerian experience that harmonizes sports and music without detracting from the boxing showcase.
“This is our Independence Day, and Afrobeats is one of Nigeria’s biggest cultural exports,” Adamu said. “We are infusing music, culture, and even African attire for the fighters’ ring walks. It’s about showcasing our heritage to the world.”
Featuring over 20 fighters in 12 matches, live global broadcast partners, and the infusion of Afrobeats, Chaos In The Ring is poised to be more than just a boxing contest; it is set to be a cultural event that firmly positions Lagos on the international stage.
