BANDITS ‘KILL 5 WORSHIPPERS, ABDUCT OTHERS’ IN ZAMFARA MOSQUE ATTACK

Armed assailants on Friday morning assaulted a mosque in the Yandoto community, located in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of at least five congregants and the abduction of several others.
According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on counter-insurgency efforts, the assailants opened fire during prayer services, killing five individuals instantly before fleeing with an undetermined number of victims into the surrounding forest.
This incident caused widespread alarm throughout the community, with residents later gathering for the funeral rites of the deceased.

“We pray Allah to forgive their shortcomings, accept them as martyrs, and bring an end to this bloodshed in our land,” a community elder remarked.
The attack took place less than a week after armed perpetrators kidnapped 40 worshippers during early morning prayers at a mosque in Gidan Turbe village, also within Tsafe LGA. Witnesses reported that the assailants surrounded the mosque around 5:30 a.m., compelling worshippers to exit at gunpoint before escorting them into the forest near the Gohori area.
At the time of this report, neither local authorities nor security forces had issued any statements regarding the recent attack.
