SHETTIMA RETURNS TO ABUJA AFTER UNGA 80, GERMANY ENGAGEMENT

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja following his representation of President Bola Tinubu at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and the conclusion of strategic discussions in Germany.
The spokesperson for the Vice-President, Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, communicated this information in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja.
Nkwocha noted that during the week-long international engagements, the Vice-President articulated President Tinubu’s national address.
He stated that Shettima advocated for extensive reforms within the United Nations, promoted Africa’s dominion over its 700 billion dollars worth of mineral resources, and fortified strategic collaborations with the United Kingdom, the Gates Foundation, and other global stakeholders.

Additionally, he mentioned that Shettima met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, obtaining commendation for Nigeria’s aspiration for a permanent seat on the Security Council, along with other engagements.
“The Vice-President also showcased the country’s 200 billion dollars energy transition opportunity to global investors.
“He also assured the Nigerian diaspora community of robust engagement in the President Tinubu administration’s policies and programmes before his engagements in Germany.”
