
NDLEA ARRESTS BUSINESSMAN WHO EXCRETED 127 COCAINE WRAPS AT MAKIA, UNCOVERS METH HIDDEN IN CERAMICS

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested a 52-year-old businessman, Ejiofor Godwin Emeka, after he excreted 127 wraps of cocaine at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.
Ejiofor, who runs boutiques in Lagos and Onitsha, Anambra State, was intercepted on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, upon arrival from Bangkok, Thailand on an Ethiopian Airlines flight. He was taken in for a body scan after operatives received credible intelligence.
According to NDLEA, the scan confirmed he had ingested cocaine and concealed some in his private part. A total of 58 wraps were recovered from his underwear immediately, while another 69 pellets were egested in seven rounds of excretion, bringing the total to 127 wraps weighing 1.388kg.
In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives in Lagos intercepted three consignments of illicit drugs destined for the United Kingdom. The seizures, made between October 9 and 10, included 1.74kg of methamphetamine hidden in blocks of glass ceramics, 282 grams of pentazocine and tramadol injections concealed in containers, and 48 grams of tramadol capsules packed in Vitamin C bottles.
The agency also thwarted attempts to export 2.6kg of skunk and 422 grams of tapentadol hidden in black soap tablets to Turkey; 169 grams of cocaine in handbags to Australia; and 568 grams of Loud (a potent cannabis strain) concealed in herbal containers to the UAE.
Additionally, NDLEA officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport intercepted 27,510 pills of rohypnol concealed in sachets of alcoholic drinks headed to South Africa. A follow-up operation led to the arrest of 46-year-old Samuel Omoruyi (alias Yellow) at Oyingbo market.
On the same day, Italy-based businessman Enehizena Augustine Uyimwen was arrested for attempting to export 3,700 tramadol pills and 2,600 tapentadol tablets hidden in food items to Italy. He reportedly admitted trafficking the drugs for a fee of €945.
Across various states, NDLEA continued its crackdown on drug traffickers:
Edo State: 47kg of skunk recovered in Etsako Central LGA.
Osun State: Two suspects arrested with 635kg of skunk in a Toyota Hiace bus.
Rivers and Katsina States: Multiple arrests with 37kg of skunk seized.
Niger State: Over 172,000 pills of tramadol, pentazocine, and exol-5 seized.
Ondo and Kaduna States: 312kg of skunk recovered in Ogbese and 150,000 exol-5 pills intercepted at Abuja/Kaduna toll gate.
Meanwhile, NDLEA continued its nationwide War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitisation campaign across schools, communities, and workplaces in multiple states.
Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the operatives for their professionalism and urged them to sustain their momentum in the agency’s drug control efforts.
