POLICE ARREST TWO BROTHERS FOR ALLEGED ROBBERY IN ONDO, RECOVER LOCALLY MADE PISTOL

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Ondo State have arrested two brothers suspected of involvement in armed robbery following a raid on a mechanic workshop in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, were apprehended on Saturday, October 11, 2025, by officers of the Ore Divisional Police Office after acting on credible intelligence.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the police recovered a locally fabricated pistol and one live cartridge from the suspects’ hideout.

“Acting on a credible tip-off from a reliable source, on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer, Ore, led his team to raid a mechanic workshop located off Okitipupa Road, Ore,” the statement read.

“During the operation, two suspects one Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, both males and residents of Ore were arrested. A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol with one live cartridge.”

The police added that the suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the firearm and identify possible links to other criminal activities in the area.

Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal commended the officers for their swift response and professionalism.

He also thanked members of the public for providing timely information, urging continued collaboration with the police to strengthen community security.
