Buckingham Palace has announced that King Charles III has initiated a formal process to remove all styles, titles, and honours held by Prince Andrew, marking a decisive step in the royal family’s response to longstanding controversies surrounding him.

According to an official statement issued by Royal Communications on Thursday, Prince Andrew will henceforth be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. The Palace also confirmed that he has been served notice to vacate his lease at the Royal Lodge, where he has resided under legal protection.

“Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation,” the statement read, describing the measures as “necessary censures,” despite Andrew’s continued denial of allegations against him.

The Palace further emphasized that Their Majesties’ sympathies remain with the victims and survivors of abuse, underscoring a broader commitment to accountability and compassion.

The announcement represents one of the most significant disciplinary actions taken by the monarchy in recent years, effectively severing Prince Andrew’s remaining formal ties to the Royal Family.
