ANOTHER ABDUCTION AS BANDITS UNLEASH FRESH ATTACK IN NIGER

Gunmen are said to have taken 10 people from the villages of Angwan-Kawo and Kuchipa in Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State, according to a report by the media on Thursday.

The spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, told Channels TV that the event took place on Wednesday evening.

He said, “On November 26, 2025, around 8 pm, we received a report that some armed men had taken about ten people from Angwan-Kawo and Kuchipa villages in Shiroro Local Government Area.

We are working to save the people who were taken,” Abiodun added.

Earlier on the same day, another attack was reported in Kakuru community, also in Erena Ward, where a blind man was reportedly brutalised and had his right hand severed by bandits after they seized a mobile phone from him.

The victim is currently receiving first aid at a patent medicine shop in the Kuduru community.

Residents of the Palaita community, Erena Ward, also reported that bandits attacked a rice farm in their area, allegedly abducting up to 24 people, including pregnant women.
