Fred Chukwuelobe, Ngige’s media assistant, shared this on Thursday. He said the former governor wasn’t in the convoy when the attack happened. However, a policeman in the pilot car was shot, and his gun and uniform were taken by the attackers. The attackers were wearing police and army uniforms.

He added that a lady who was recording the shooting was killed by the gunmen.
A shop owner who rushed to check what was happening was also shot, but he only lost a lot of blood and will soon have surgery to remove the bullets. He is expected to recover fully. The pilot car was heavily shot at.

Chukwuelobe also said that no police officer was killed, and the leader of the group who was shot has had surgery and is expected to recover completely. “The shop owner was lucky because the bullets didn’t stay in his spine.”

“He just talked to His Excellency, and he confirmed what happened.
He said he will do everything he can to make sure the injured people get proper care. He also expressed sympathy for the family of the woman who was killed while recording the scene,” he said.

The police in Anambra State have not yet officially commented on the incident.
