BREAKING: US LAUNCHES AIRSTRIKES AGAINST ISIS- BACKED GROUPS IN NORTH-WEST NIGERIA

Late Thursday night, United States of America warplanes “launched a powerful and deadly strike” against terrorist groups operating in Northwest Nigeria, at the request of Nigerian authorities.

The announcement was made by US President; Donald Trump on his verified X handle, he wrote “Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for manv vears, and even Centuries! I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was. The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing. Under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper. May God Bless our Military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead Terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.”

The US Africa Command (AFRICOM) stated in a post on X that the strike was at “the request of Nigerian authorities”.

“At the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War, and in coordination with Nigerian authorities, U.S. Africa Command conducted strikes against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria on Dec. 25, 2025, in Sokoto State.”

Recall that earlier on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister; Benjamin Netanyahu had also called for the end of attacks targeted at Christians in Nigeria.

The Nigerian government is yet to issue an official statement on the development.
