Former Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has dismissed social media reports suggesting he is negotiating a defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement released to journalists, Badaru described the claims as “false, unfounded, and politically motivated,” emphasizing that the rumours are driven by political mischief.

He emphasized that he remains fully committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party he helped establish, describing his loyalty as absolute and unwavering.

Badaru urged the public and APC supporters to ignore the misleading claims, reiterating that he has no intention of leaving the party and continues to be a dedicated member.

The speculation, fueled by social media, suggested that Badaru might be planning to join the opposition ADC.

The reports come amid ongoing political rivalry between loyalists of the former minister and those of Governor Malam Umar Namadi, with each side accusing the other of anti-party activities.
