OLD OYO NATIONAL PARK TARGETED IN ALLEGED GUNMEN ATTACK

Gunmen have reportedly attacked the Old Oyo National Park in the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone. Initial reports indicate that some fatalities occurred, although the total number of casualties had not been confirmed at the time of reporting on Wednesday.
Oyo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, stating that police and other security personnel are en route to the scene.
In a statement to journalists on Wednesday afternoon, Ayanlade said:
“There was an attack by yet-to-be-identified individuals against personnel of the national park. The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, and other service chiefs are currently on their way to the location. Meanwhile, tactical teams, Mobile Police Force officers, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units have been deployed to the area to prevent further breakdown of law and order.”
