RIVERS APC CRISIS: WIKE-FUBARA TENSIONS COULD SHAKE PARTY, SAYS AUSTIN OKAI

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Comrade Austin Okai, has warned that the ongoing feud between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, could destabilize the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike and Fubara resurfaced recently after the minister vowed to frustrate the governor’s re-election bid. Fubara, now a member of the APC, reportedly enjoys the backing of some top party leaders, but Wike’s call for him to steer clear of Rivers politics sparked a war of words with the party’s national leadership.
Speaking in an interview on TVC News on Tuesday, Okai predicted the crisis could spread to other states. He said, “Wike did not just attack the APC National Secretary; he attacked the NSA and others. For over a decade, crises in ruling parties often begin in Rivers State. What is happening there could consume the APC unless the president exercises political courage and calls the FCT Minister to order.”
Okai added, “Wike is speaking more forcefully than the APC National Chairman, NSA, and even the Chief of Staff. He is even speaking more than the president himself.”
