Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has publicly denied knowing Tonto Dikeh prior to her marriage to Olakunle Churchill.
Meurer made the statement while responding to viral claims that she was Dikeh’s close friend.
Social media reports had alleged that Rosy Meurer “snatched” Olakunle Churchill from his then-best friend, Tonto Dikeh.
In 2017, Olakunle was accused of cheating on his then wife, Tonto with Meurer, who was allegedly a close friend to the family.
In response to the allegation, Meurer who denied having sexual relationships with Churchill, stated that the couple were like family to her.
In the old video, Meurer said “I remain under big church foundation and he (Olakunle) remains family to me. His wife (Tonto Dikeh) remains family to me. We’ve hung out together before and I don’t see a big deal there. People should stop saying things that they do not know.”
The media reports that three years after the couple divorced, Rosy Meurer got married to Olakunle Churchill in 2021. Their marriage sparked controversy with netizens digging up the old allegations.
However, in a new Instagram video on Wednesday, Meurer, who had remained silent since marrying Olakunle Churchill, denied ever being friends with Tonto Dikeh, insisting that she had never met her.
“These bloggers thrive on lies. I can’t really blame them, but I do blame the gullible followers who choose to believe everything they see online. Today, I want to set the record straight, once and for all.
“I was never friends with my husband’s ex, let alone her best friend. I have never met her or seen her. She doesn’t have my number, I don’t have hers, and she is eight to ten years older than me. I’ve read comments claiming I was her best friend or that she introduced me to my husband and that I ‘snatched’ him, but none of it is true. If anyone has proof otherwise, I challenge them to present it.”
“I was never friends with her. I don’t even know her. I met my husband independently of that chapter of his life,” she stated.
According to the media, Tonto Dikeh married Olakunle Churchill in August 2015 and gave birth to their son, King Andre, in February 2016. The couple later divorced in July 2017 amid allegations of domestic violence and infidelity.
