BREAKING: DISU ASSUMES DUTY AS ACTING IGP, TAKES FIRST SALUTE AT FORCE HEADQUARTERS

The acting Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, on Wednesday formally assumed duty at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
His resumption followed his decoration earlier in the day by Bola Tinubu at the State House.
Disu’s appointment came after the resignation of the former Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who stepped down on Tuesday, citing family reasons. Egbetokun was appointed on June 19, 2023.
On arrival at the Force Headquarters at about 4:25 p.m., Disu took his first salute as Inspector-General from members of the Quarter Guard and police officers.
Thereafter, Egbetokun and Disu proceeded to the official handover ceremony. The outgoing IGP, dressed in a blue suit, white shirt and tie, was accompanied by Deputy Inspectors-General of Police during the event.
