JUDO FEDERATION COMMENDS DISU ON APPOINTMENT AS ACTING INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE

The President of the Nigeria Judo Federation, Dr. Musa Oshodi, has congratulated Tunji Disu on his appointment as the acting Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force, describing it as a strong testament to professionalism, competence, and integrity in national service.

In 2022, while serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Disu gained international recognition by winning a silver medal at the 33rd US Open Judo Championship in Brookline, Massachusetts, which featured over 500 veteran participants from across the globe.

Dr. Oshodi highlighted that Disu’s promotion reflects his exceptional record of service and leadership within the police force, as well as his wider contributions to national development.

“On behalf of the board and the entire Nigeria Judo Federation family, I warmly congratulate Mr. Disu, who also served meritoriously on our immediate past board, on this well-deserved appointment. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to place this key office in the hands of a dedicated professional is both commendable and reassuring,” Oshodi stated.

“I am confident that under his leadership, public trust will be reinforced, operational efficiency enhanced, and community engagement across the force deepened,” he added.

The NJF president also stressed that strong, accountable institutions are essential for national development, highlighting the critical role of effective policing in youth empowerment, social stability, and the advancement of sports in Nigeria.

He expressed optimism that Disu’s tenure would bring reforms promoting discipline, professionalism, and citizen-centered policing, while wishing him a successful and impactful period of service to the nation.
