Troops from the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, on Monday intercepted a Toyota pick-up truck in Borno State carrying three suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP members.
Sources disclosed that during the interception, which occurred around 8:30 a.m., the troops recovered large quantities of textile fabrics reportedly intended for making uniforms used by terrorists in their operations across the North East.
It is noted that Boko Haram/ISWAP members often wear matching uniforms during attacks to identify themselves and coordinate activities.
A military officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the seizure. He stated:
“Our troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, made a significant interception by stopping a Toyota pick-up truck transporting three suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP members in Borno State.
“Along with the suspects, we recovered large textile fabrics intended for use as terrorist uniforms. The vehicle also contained 20 Hilux tyre tubes, spare parts for motorcycles and bicycles, several cutlasses, three concealed mobile phones, additional tyres, and other items.”
Although the officer did not specify the exact location of the incident, reports indicate that it occurred along the Magumeri–Gubio road in Borno State.
