ValueJet Airlines has announced an enhancement of its Lagos–Owerri operations by introducing daily flights, aiming to improve connectivity between Nigeria’s commercial hub and the South-East region while addressing increasing passenger demand.
According to a statement released to The PUNCH on Monday, the airline confirmed that starting 23 March 2026, flights on the Lagos–Owerri route will increase from three weekly services to seven, providing travellers with greater flexibility and improved scheduling options.
The airline noted that the expansion is expected to relieve travel pressure on one of Nigeria’s busiest domestic routes, widely used by business travellers, families, and entrepreneurs.
Commenting on the development, ValueJet Managing Director Omololu Majekodunmi said the move underscores the airline’s commitment to strengthening domestic air connectivity and supporting economic activities nationwide.
He stated, “The introduction of daily flights on the Lagos–Owerri route is a direct response to rising passenger demand. Our aim is to offer reliable and convenient travel options that connect people, businesses, and opportunities across Nigeria.”
Majekodunmi added that the route is strategically important for commerce, education, and social engagement between the two regions, noting that regular flight services would enhance mobility for professionals and families who depend on predictable travel schedules.
