Nollywood actress and reality TV star Annie Idibia has addressed speculations surrounding her marital status, stating that she does not identify as a “single mum” but rather as a single woman raising two children.

In a post shared on her Instagram page on Monday, Annie reposted a message by an Instagram user, #katyeneff, described as a “Feminine Magnetism & Aliveness Activator,” reflecting on identity, motherhood and personal growth.

“I’m not a single Mom. I’m a single woman raising two kids,” the message read.

It continued, “My children don’t need me married. They need me alive. They need me true. They need me free.”

The post emphasised that her journey is not about “doing it alone,” but about “legacy work—breaking the chains that told women to stay small, silent or suffering ‘for the kids.’”

It further highlighted personal peace and emotional stability as central to parenting. “My peace brings them peace. My joy brings them joy. My radiance creates their safety. This is what leading a family actually looks like,” the message stated.

Annie’s comments come months after the end of her marriage to singer 2Baba, born Innocent Idibia. Their separation was publicly announced in January 2025. The couple share two children.

Following the split, reports indicated that Annie sought rehabilitation, while 2Baba moved on with his new fiancée, Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru. Although their divorce has yet to be formally concluded, both parties appear to have moved forward separately.

Since the separation, Annie has embraced what she describes as a new phase of her life focused on healing and self-care. She embarked on a wellness retreat spanning Qatar, Singapore and Cape Town, South Africa, and has consistently shared reflective messages about growth and self-worth.

At the The Headies Awards in May 2025, she publicly acknowledged the separation when she initially introduced herself as “Annie Idi…” before correcting it to “Annie Macaulay.”

Her latest post reinforces that narrative, framing motherhood as part of her identity while asserting a sense of independence and personal renewal beyond marital status.
