As excitement mounts ahead of the March 29, 2026 grand premiere of AVANTE, a key industry figure has described the film as a bold and defining addition to modern African storytelling, The media reports.

Victory Amah, a scriptwriter and filmmaker with AfriSQuare Entertainment, has congratulated the project’s producer, commending the vision, resilience, and discipline required to deliver a production of such scale and artistic depth.

“Producing a film of this magnitude requires an unshakable belief in the power of storytelling,” Amah said, noting that the project reflects strong leadership and a steadfast commitment to excellence.

At the centre of AVANTE is a distinguished cast of accomplished actors. Leading the ensemble is Chimezie Imoh, widely praised for his role in The Breath of Life, which earned recognition at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. He is joined by Kingsley Okafor, known for his performance in Marriage Stunts, delivering what insiders describe as an emotionally layered portrayal.

The production also features Patience Ujah, celebrated for her roles in Halita and Eagle Wings, alongside Eddie Watson, whose performance in The Waiter resonated strongly with audiences across Africa. Adding further depth to the cast is Ruth Nkweti, recognised for her role in Living in Bondage: Breaking Free.

Behind the camera, the film is directed by Toka McBaror, acclaimed for works such as Dark October, Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons, Kada River, and Lotanna. His reputation for cinematic precision and narrative craftsmanship is expected to complement the producer’s ambitious vision and strengthen the film’s artistic integrity.

Described as a profoundly human story, AVANTE explores themes of love, vengeance, justice, and destiny. Its emotional depth and deliberate storytelling position it as a potentially significant milestone in Africa’s evolving film industry.

As the premiere date draws closer, industry observers see AVANTE not simply as another release, but as a bold declaration of intent — one that reflects both ambition and responsibility to the craft.

If early commendations are any measure, March 29 could mark the beginning of a lasting legacy for the film and its creative team.
