The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has released emergency hotline numbers for Nigerians living in or traveling through parts of the Middle East as tensions continue to rise over the Iran-related conflict in the region.
In a public notice shared on its official X handle, NiDCOM urged Nigerians in affected countries to save the hotline numbers and contact the nearest Nigerian mission immediately in cases of distress or emergency.
The development comes amid growing concerns over the broader implications of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has raised fears about the safety of foreign nationals across several Gulf and Levant countries.
According to the statement, the commission explained that the hotlines were created to provide urgent consular support as the security situation continues to evolve.
The advisory covers Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Tel Aviv, Doha, Beirut, Riyadh, Jeddah and Amman, with each mission assigned dedicated emergency contact numbers.
NiDCOM also advised Nigerians abroad to remain vigilant, comply with local safety instructions and maintain close contact with Nigerian embassies and consulates for updates and assistance.
The commission stressed that Nigerians should rely on official information and take every necessary precaution while the crisis continues.
