The Kwankwasiyya Movement has highlighted the importance of inclusive and progressive leadership in Nigeria, following its 10th Sallah Kalankuwa celebration, which brought together key political figures.
In a statement on Monday, the movement’s spokesperson, Habibu Sale Mohammed, said the event united leaders from across the country and different political affiliations, demonstrating a collective commitment to national unity and development.
“What we saw went beyond mere celebration. The diversity and nationwide representation of participants reflect a common desire for a more inclusive, just, and forward-looking Nigeria,” he stated.
He noted that the event, though organised as a cultural and entertainment platform to mark the Sallah celebration, carried deeper political significance due to the calibre of personalities in attendance.
“We are deeply honoured by the presence of such distinguished personalities whose participation added immense value and meaning to the event,” Mohammed said.

The movement also highlighted the participation of members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Najaatu Bala Mohammed, as well as key figures from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), including its national leadership and former vice-presidential candidate, Isaac Idahosa.
According to Mohammed, the convergence of leaders across party lines demonstrates that collaboration is both possible and necessary for Nigeria’s development.
“This gathering sends a strong message that constructive engagement and collaboration across political divides are both possible and necessary for national development,” he said.
He added that such engagements could help build trust and shape future political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“As we approach the next electoral cycle, gatherings like this foster trust, encourage dialogue, and help establish strategic alignment in the national interest,” he said.
The Kwankwasiyya Movement reiterated its commitment to advancing unity and people-focused leadership through inclusive initiatives.
“We will continue to provide credible platforms that unite Nigerians, enhance national cohesion, and inspire collective efforts toward a brighter future,” Mohammed added.
The event was attended by notable figures including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, and former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, along with traditional rulers, party leaders, and other key stakeholders.
