Justice J. O. Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of N3.444 billion and three properties linked to Salihu Nuhu Jamari.
The assets were traced to Jamari during his tenure as Managing Director of the Nigerian Gas and Power Investment Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The forfeited properties include an uncompleted six-bedroom semi-detached duplex with boys’ quarters in Asokoro, Abuja; a two-bedroom apartment in Osborne Phase II, Ikoyi, Lagos; and a restaurant located in Lokogoma District, Abuja.
The order followed a motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) through its counsel, Ekele Iheanacho (SAN), on March 17, 2026.
The court had earlier granted an interim forfeiture order on February 25, 2026, directing that the assets be published in a national newspaper to allow any interested party to show cause why they should not be permanently forfeited.
Investigations by the EFCC revealed that the funds were linked to alleged conspiracy, bribery, kickbacks, and money laundering involving staff and contractors of the NNPCL. Jamari was found to have allegedly used his private firms, Cumulus Energy Limited and Pius and Phillips Petroleum Limited, to receive kickbacks from contractors awarded major projects.
After reviewing the application, Justice Abdulmalik held that it had merit and consequently ordered the final forfeiture of the funds and properties to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
