The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has received hand luggage for the 2026 Hajj exercise, marking a key milestone in preparations for this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji Aliyu Musa, chairman of the agency, personally inspected the items and expressed satisfaction with their quality and timely arrival. He described the delivery as part of efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient Hajj experience for pilgrims from the state.
“We are satisfied with the progress made so far. The arrival of these materials is a clear indication of our commitment to ensuring that Sokoto pilgrims have a smooth and hitch-free Hajj experience,” Musa said.
He added that the agency is meticulously coordinating logistics, welfare, and orientation programmes to meet national standards. Musa also disclosed that pilgrims’ uniforms are still expected from the contractor and assured that steps are being taken to ensure timely delivery.
In addition, the agency plans to intensify enlightenment campaigns across all 23 Local Government Areas of Sokoto State to educate pilgrims on the rites, rules, and expectations of the pilgrimage, aiming to make the 2026 Hajj one of the most successful in recent years.
