OMAH LAY RAISES CONCERN OVER AFROBEATS’ GLOBAL DECLINE, VOWS TO REINVIGORATE NIGERIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY

Singer Omah Stanley Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has expressed concerns over the decline of Afrobeats, particularly in Western countries.
Speaking during his Lagos Warehouse Session on Thursday night, Omah Lay noted that the global popularity Afrobeats enjoyed a few years ago has started to wane.
“Overseas, Afrobeats is declining. That’s a fact. Our artists are doing well, but the Afrobeats you knew between 2020 and 2024 is not the same as what we see now,” he said.

Omah Lay revealed that he has been studying his musical idols and seeking ways to rejuvenate the Nigerian music industry.
He added that his music aims to inspire his peers to elevate their craft and help restore Afrobeats’ global prominence.
