2027: NATIONAL FORUM OF FORMER LEGISLATORS ENDORSES TINUBU, OYEBANJI FOR SECOND TERM BID

The Ekiti State chapter of the National Forum of Former Legislators (NFFL) has been formally inaugurated, with members pledging to apply their legislative experience toward securing the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The forum, which includes former lawmakers from the National Assembly, state Houses of Assembly, and local government councils, unanimously committed to leveraging their experience to strengthen governance and democratic practice in Nigeria.
The inauguration ceremony, held at Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti, was conducted by the National Coordinator of the Forum, Hon. Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe, on behalf of the Convener, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President.
In a communique issued at the end of the event, the Forum expressed satisfaction with the strong turnout and the commitment of members to promoting good governance, democratic consolidation, and sustainable development in Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.
Members unanimously resolved to draw on their extensive legislative and governance experience to provide advisory support and strategic input aimed at improving effective service delivery across all levels of government.
The Forum also pledged to mobilise broad grassroots and institutional backing for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s second-term ambition, citing his developmental achievements and dedication to the state’s progress.
During the inauguration, the National Coordinator of the Forum, Hon. Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe, commended the Convener, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, for his foresight in establishing the NFFL as a lasting platform for governance engagement, describing it as a “permanent reservoir of experience and expertise” for national development and civic mobilisation.
Also speaking, the General Coordinator of the Ekiti State chapter, Dr. Ifeoluwa Arowosoge, said the inauguration of the group in the state would give former legislators a sense of belonging and provide them with a platform to contribute to Ekiti’s growth and development through their wealth of experience and expertise.
In the same vein, a former member of the House of Representatives and Advisory Council member of the forum, Congressman Bimbo Daramola, urged members to operate as one united family, embrace progressive engagement, and promote democratic values in Ekiti State and across Nigeria.
Also speaking at the event, the Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Professor Habbibat Adubiaro, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo, expressed appreciation to the former lawmakers for their confidence in the President and the Governor, assuring that Governor Oyebanji would remain committed to driving continued progress and development in the state.
