WEST HAM THRASH WOLVES, PUSH TOTTENHAM INTO BOTTOM THREE

West Ham moved out of the Premier League relegation zone with a commanding 4-0 victory over Wolves on Friday night, a result that pushed Tottenham into the bottom three.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team broke the deadlock at the London Stadium when Konstantinos Mavropanos powered in a first-half header. West Ham then took full control after the break, with Valentin Castellanos scoring twice to extend the lead and lift the Hammers two points above Spurs, who began the night in the relegation zone.
Mavropanos added a second late on to complete the emphatic win, a twist of fate as the former Arsenal defender played a key role in deepening the crisis for their North London rivals.
Tottenham dropped into the bottom three for the first time since August 2015, when they lost to Manchester United. However, they still have a chance to climb out of the relegation zone if they beat Sunderland in Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge on Sunday. The club now face a tense final stretch with seven matches left to secure their Premier League status.

West Ham, who were recently knocked out of the FA Cup by Leeds, responded strongly with a crucial win in their survival battle.
“All of us deserve this kind of evening, especially our fans. The London Stadium was amazing, full of energy,” said manager Nuno. “The first half was difficult, but after the break we improved. We are in the fight, but there is still a lot of work to do.”
At the other end of the table, Wolves remain bottom, 15 points from safety with just six games left, leaving them on the brink of relegation to the Championship.
Wolves struggled after a long break from competitive action, with early missed chances proving costly. West Ham capitalised just before half-time when Mavropanos opened the scoring from a corner involving Jarrod Bowen.
Castellanos then struck twice in quick succession in the second half—first capitalising on a defensive error before adding a second after a deflected effort—before Mavropanos sealed the rout with his second goal from a late corner.
