He stated that the new administration represents a renewed phase of student leadership focused on accountability, inclusivity, and meaningful engagement, adding that his team is fully committed to delivering on its mandate.

Ajayi also outlined key priorities, including strengthening student advocacy, increasing access to opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring that the voices of Lagos students are well represented at all levels.

The association further appealed to government bodies, educational authorities, and development partners to work together in tackling challenges affecting students and the education sector.

According to the statement, the newly inaugurated leadership assured students across Lagos State of its commitment to upholding justice, fairness, and effective representation while striving to foster a more united and progressive student community.

Ajayi emerged as chairman following a closely contested election held on March 28 at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka. The election ended in a 5–5 tie between him and fellow candidate Odewumi Quadri, prompting the convention chairman, Sanni Sulaimon, to exercise his constitutional authority to cast the deciding vote in Ajayi’s favor.

Sulaimon noted that the election process strictly followed constitutional guidelines and democratic principles, ensuring a fair and credible outcome.
