Barcelona and Spain youngster Lamine Yamal has openly expressed his admiration for Brazilian star Neymar, calling him his football idol and thanking him for his impact on the game.
Speaking about the players who influenced his growth, Yamal pointed to Neymar’s creativity, flair, and lasting mark on modern football as key inspirations.
In a post shared via UEFA’s X account on Monday, the young Spaniard said, “Neymar is my idol. I will always be grateful to him. I want to thank him for everything he has given football.”
The 18-year-old winger, who has rapidly made a name for himself at both Barcelona and the Spanish national team, is often likened to some of football’s top attacking talents because of his dribbling skills and confidence on the ball.
