2027: OLUBADAN URGES NIGERIAN YOUTHS TO REJECT POLITICAL VIOLENCE

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has urged Nigerian youths to reject political violence and avoid being used for electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The monarch made the call on Wednesday while receiving students from the Leadership Centre of the University of Abuja at his palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The advice was conveyed through the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, according to a statement issued by the Olubadan’s Chief Press Secretary, Gbenga Ayoade.
Ladoja encouraged young Nigerians, particularly students, to play meaningful roles in nation-building and avoid activities that could jeopardise their future.

He specifically warned youths against allowing politicians to recruit them as political thugs or engage them in electoral malpractice.
The Olubadan also advised young Nigerians to shun bitterness and violence as the 2027 elections approach.
Earlier, the leader of the visiting delegation, Prof. Abdulhamid Suleiman, said the team visited the palace to receive the monarch’s blessings and engage with young people on leadership and the importance of good governance.
Suleiman noted that the visit would also provide the students with an opportunity to learn more about Ibadan’s historical and political significance.
The Olubadan subsequently encouraged the students to explore notable tourist and historical sites in the city, including the University of Ibadan, Cocoa House and Bowers Tower.
