2023 POLLS: DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE FOR LP IN ZAMFARA, OTHERS DEFECT TO APC
Alhaji Sule Dansadau, the Labour Party’s deputy governorship candidate in Zamfara, has joined the APC weeks before the state’s scheduled March 11 election.
Zamfara West senatorial candidate Yahaya Audi Mafara, Zamfara Central senatorial candidate Alhaji Sani Yusuf Danmasami, and Zamfara North senatorial candidate Engineer Adamu Yakubu are among those who joined the ruling APC with the Dansadau.
Additionally, 14 of the 19 candidates running for the House of Assembly and 7 of the candidates running for a seat in the House of Representatives both defected to the APC.
Abdulaziz Yari, the chairman of the Zamfara 2023 governorship campaign committee, said this over the weekend while welcoming the newly joined party members.
Speaking at the event, Tukur Umar Danfulani, the state chairman of the APC, was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Hassan Marafa Damri. Danfulani said citizens of the state needed to be fanatical about maintaining peace and stability in the state and working together to advance it.
Dansadau stated in his speech that, in light of the harmony now existing between Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle and Governor Abdulaziz Yari following their reconciliation, it was necessary for supporters of the APC to give up their individual aspirations and instead unite behind the APC.
