AMAECHI URGES NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT TO TACKLE INSECURITY BEFORE ELECTION CAMPAIGNS

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has urged the Federal Government to halt ongoing political campaigns and concentrate on addressing the growing insecurity in the country.
Amaechi made the appeal while commenting on the state of the nation, insisting that the deteriorating security situation should take precedence over political activities.
He stressed that meaningful elections cannot take place in an atmosphere where citizens no longer feel secure in their communities.
Calling on the government to prioritise the protection of lives and property, Amaechi warned that continuing election campaigns amid increasing cases of killings, kidnappings, and unrest would only heighten public dissatisfaction and erode trust in leadership.
According to him, restoring peace and security should be the government’s immediate priority before embarking on serious political activities ahead of future elections.
