FIVE FIREFIGHTERS, OTHERS INJURED IN KADUNA TANKER EXPLOSION
On Wednesday, a tanker explosion at a filling station in the Rigasa area of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State injured at least 20 people.
The victims who sustained varying degrees of injuries from the incident include five firefighters, men of the Kaduna State Vigilante Service, and passersby.
On Thursday, According to the State Director of Fire Service, Mr. Paul Aboi, the fire service members are currently undergoing treatment at the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital in Kaduna.
He explained that the tanker was offloading petrol when the incident happened on Wednesday.
He blamed the incident on the filing station’s negligence, stating that the petrol should not have been offloaded in the afternoon.
He cautioned petrol owners against endangering their lives by offloading the commodity at the appropriate time (evening).
