UPDATE: HEALTH MINISTRY IN HAMAS-RUN GAZA SAYS WAR DEATHS HIT 7,703
Agency Report
At least 7,703 people have died in the conflict between Israel and Hamas that broke out on October 7, according to the health ministry in Hamas-ruled Gaza on Saturday.
The ministry also stated that about 3,500 children were among the deceased.
Since Israel’s unilateral withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, the number of fatalities in the region has increased due to the continuous conflict between Hamas and Israel.
Israel’s army reported that on Friday night it increased the intensity of its bombardment of the Gaza Strip, hitting numerous Hamas targets, particularly underground tunnels.
Thousands of homes and hundreds of buildings were devastated throughout the strip by the artillery and fierce airstrikes, according to the Palestinian civil defence service.
