JUST IN: MOTORCYCLE SECTION OF SOKOTO CENTRAL MARKET GUTS FIRE
The motorcycle section of the Sokoto Central market is currently impacted by the market’s fire.
The fire erupted early this morning, according to an eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent, but its source is still unknown at this time.
But according to a different report, the Sokoto Central Market fire originated near the motorcycle section at a trash site.
In response, Shehu Muhammad, the chairman of the Motorcycle Marketers Association, stated that because the fire was still blazing, they were unable to estimate the number of motorcycles that had been destroyed.
“We cannot quantify the number of motorcycles burnt down by the fire now because the fire is still raging.
“But many people lost their shops along with their motorcycles because they could not come in time as the fire started around 6am.
“But men of the federal and state fire services are currently battling, but I know it will take some time before they can quench it all,” he said.
But he made a plea to the state authorities to assist individuals who lost their possessions in the fire.
