SUPER FALCONS’ NNADOZIE WINS ANOTHER AWARD IN FRANCE
Chiamaka Nnadozie has won the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) award for the best goalkeeper in the French Women’s League.
The 23-year-old is the first African nay Nigerian to win the award.
The Super Falcons shot stopper was recognised for her mesmerizing performance for Paris FC this season.
Nnadozie beat Olympic Lyon’s Christiane Endler, Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of Paris SG, FC Fleury’s Chloe N’Gazi and Kinga Szemik of Stade de Reims to the individual accolade.
It would be recalled that she was crowned the best goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema (women’s league) last month.
Nnadozie’s penalty-saving heroics in particular has cemented her status as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
She saved seven penalties this season, the highest by any goalkeeper in Europe.
On the international scene, she played a crucial role in Nigeria’s qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games.
