WAFU B: GOLDEN EAGLETS’ DEFENDER DOUBTFUL FOR FINAL GROUP GAME VS TOGO
Golden Eaglets defender Boluwatife Ekishola is doubtful for Wednesday’s 2024 WAFU B U-17 final Group B clash against Togo due to injury.
This was revealed by the Eaglets’ media officer Francis Achi, in a post on his X handle.
According to Achi, Ekishola was injured in the game against Niger Republic on Sunday.
The Eaglets won the game 1-0 thanks to a first half strike from Rapha Adams.
It was the team’s first win of the tournament and needs at least a draw to progress into the semi-finals.
The win took the coach Manu Garba-led side to four points and are second behind Burkina Faso, who are also on four points.
Speaking ahead of the game against Togo, Adams said he and his teammates will defend, attack and also score.
“We have been working hard in training and we will work harder on match day.
“Our coaches have been teaching us a lot and if we can inteprete everything we have been taught very well against Togo,we will come out victorious.“
The 2024 WAFU B U-17 tournament is the qualifier for the U-17 AFCON.
