The Kano administration was fined ₦10 million by a Federal High Court for infringing on the rights of the ousted Emir Aminu Bayero.

This development follows the declaration made by Justice Liman Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Kano State, that Bayero is entitled to a hearing.

Aminu Baba Dan Agundi, the kingmaker, filed a complaint, and Justice Mohammed rendered a decision on Thursday.

In the ongoing emirate dispute, Agundi has launched a case on behalf of Bayero’s fundamental human rights.

In a case brought by the Kano State Government, a Kano State High Court also issued an order for substituted service against Bayero and four other emirs to prevent them from presenting themselves as emirs.
