JUST IN: PRES. TINUBU TO OBSERVE EID-EL-KABIR IN LAGOS

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu would leave the capital city of Abuja for Lagos State in advance of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

His spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, revealed this in a statement on Friday. According to her, Tinubu would celebrate Eid-el-Kabir and the Sallah holidays in Lagos.

The President would honor the occasion, he continued, with prayers and thoughts on furthering Nigeria’s transformation in keeping with his renewed hope agenda.

After the crescent of Dhul Hijjah was sighted, marking the start of the 12th Islamic month, Saudi Arabia had earlier declared June 16 to be Sallah Day.

The largest Islamic holiday, Eid Al Adha, is observed on the tenth of Dhu Al Hijjah.

On the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, Muslims worldwide commemorate Eid ul-Adha.

After Eid-ul-Fitr, it is the second-biggest Islamic holiday observed by Muslims.

Saudi Arabia declared last Thursday that, as a result, the holy month will begin on Friday.

Additionally, on Friday, June 14, the Hajj pilgrimage for 1445 AH-2024 will begin. On Saturday, June 15, the day of Arafah will fall.The major Muslim holiday,

Eid Al-Adha, will now be celebrated on Sunday, June 16, 2024, thanks to the change.

June 15th is Arafat Day, the day before the festivities.
