UPDATE: MUSK DENIES BACKING TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH $45M A MONTH DONATIONS

Elon Musk has refuted rumors that he was contributing $45 million a month to a fund that supported Donald Trump’s most recent attempt to win the presidency.

Musk referred to the idea that he was supporting a purported political SuperPAC as “ridiculous” in a post-Tuesday on X. SuperPACs are organizations created specifically with unrestricted funding for political candidates and issues.

ā€œI am making some donations to America PAC, but at a much lower level and the key values of the PAC are supporting a meritocracy & individual freedom.ā€

ā€œRepublicans are mostly, but not entirely, on the side of merit & freedom,ā€ he added.

Musk made his remarks a few days after Vice President Kamala Harris replaced Joe Biden in the Democratic presidential campaign, reinvigorating it.

Although Musk had just said a few months prior that he would not support President Joe Biden or Donald Trump with his donations, the Wall Street Journal revealed that Musk intends to give $45 million a month to America PAC.

Soon after the Republican candidate for US president, Donald Trump, escaped a shooting at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, earlier this month, the founder of Tesla officially endorsed Trump’s bid.

Along with former US ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft, Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, and cryptocurrency investors Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, Musk is one of the fund’s primary sponsors.
