PARIS 2024: BRAZIL’S NUNES HAPPY WITH ‘DIFFICULT’ WIN OVER SUPER FALCONS
Gabi Nunes confessed the Super Falcons made things difficult for Brazil in their women’s football Group C fixture at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Brazil claimed a 1-0 victory in the encounter played at the Matmut Atlantique Stadium, Bordeaux on Thursday night.
Nunes scored the winning goal seven minutes before the break.
The forward rifled the ball into net after she was set up by veteran midfielder Marta.
Nunes was happy to see the Samba Girls start their campaign on a winning note.
“I am very, very happy with this game. It was a difficult game, but this team is amazing, we trained a lot to play a good game,” she was quoted by FIFA.com.
“I’m happy with the goal, to be able to help our team, and now we have to rest and enjoy this moment.”
The South Americans will face world champions Spain in their next game on Sunday.
