President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the founding registrar of the National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB), Professor Olu Aina, OFR, on his 85th birthday.
Tinubu joined family, friends and the academic community in celebrating the scholar, whose legacy is rooted in the transformative power of skills-based education, particularly technical and vocational training.
He acknowledged Professor Aina’s contribution in equipping Nigerian youths with the skills needed to contribute to the nation’s economy through innovation and creativity.
Tinubu also recognises the professor’s role in the establishment of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Osun State University, where technical education continues to thrive.
The President believes that the life story of the son of the carpenter, who followed in his father’s craft and later became a professor, serves as an inspiration on the impact hands-on training can have on personal and societal growth.
