The Kano State Police Command arrested infamous thug Inuwa Zakari, better known as “Gundura,” together with 14 other people on Tuesday, marking a major victory in the battle against thuggery.

SP Abdullahi Haruna, the spokesperson for the Command, verified the arrest in a press release that was given to The Punch in Kano.

The 24-year-old Gundura, who was wanted for terrorizing the city, was also found to be the attacker who attacked a Vigilance Group Commander, causing serious injuries and wrecking a police car.

The arrests took place during clearance operations that took place from October 25 to 27, 2024, in response to orders from Salman Dogo Garba, the State Commissioner of Police, to take strong action against thuggery.

The police sent a clear and strong message that such violent activities would not be tolerated.

After completing their investigation at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, the suspects will be charged in court and subject to the full force of the law.
