The African Action Congress (AAC) has chosen Miss Chioma Ifemeludike as its nominee for the governorship of Anambra State in November.

Ifemeludike was chosen in the party’s primary election and is anticipated to face Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the current governor of the state, in addition to candidates from other political parties.

The party’s national treasurer, Dr. Sam Ajeigbe, represented AAC National Chairman Comrade Omoyele Sowore at the event.

Mr. Oshiokhe Ikpeminoghena, the chairman of the election committee, stated that the party had a constitutional obligation to field a candidate for the election and that Ifemeludike had completed all the requirements to be eligible to run for the Anambra governorship.

Ifemeludike made a commitment in her acceptance speech to uphold the confidence that party members had placed in her.

The party would ensure that the people of Anambra State, particularly women, children, and young people, are empowered to become better citizens of the country, she said.

Miss Ifemeludike comes from the Anambra State local government area of Eziowele, Idemili North.

By a vote of affirmation, members of Congress chose her unanimously.
