TROOPS ARREST FOUR SUSPECTED TERRORISTS, SEIZE WEAPONS IN TARABA STATE
Soldiers from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have apprehended four suspected terrorists and seized various weapons, including rifles and ammunition, during a successful operation in Taraba State.
The operation was launched following a distress alert on May 7 about the movement of armed individuals in the Tau area of Ardo-Kola Local Government.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama via his X account, the Army’s rapid response led to the suspects’ arrest and the recovery of key evidence.
Three of the suspects were caught with firearms, while the fourth was taken into custody for further questioning.
Recovered items included two pump-action rifles, a locally-made gun, 42 cartridges, cutlasses, mobile phones, and a national ID card.
Initial findings suggest the suspects may have been invited by one Alhaji Ardo Sani, who is now under investigation.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commander of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 OPWS, praised his troops for their swift and professional handling of the situation.
“I commend our troops for their quick and effective response. We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in Taraba State and its surroundings.”
He further called on members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies.
