Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has revealed that midfielder Moises Caicedo may be available for Sunday’s FIFA Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain, after rejoining full training on Friday.

The Blues are just one win away from claiming the world title in the United States, following a 2-0 semi-final victory over Fluminense. Speaking at the MetLife Stadium, Maresca expressed hope that Caicedo will be fit in time for the final.

“Moises is an important player for us,” Maresca told reporters at the MetLife Stadium. “He participated in the session this morning and I hope we can have him on Sunday.”

Chelsea’s place in the final was secured thanks to a brace from forward Joao Pedro, whose standout performance earned praise from both fans and coaching staff.

Maresca praised Pedro’s technical ability and hinted at his usefulness against teams that sit deep defensively.

“Joao is a very good player, the reason why we bought him is we think he’s going to help us against teams that defend deep, low blocks,” Maresca said. “He is very good in small spaces, has great quality. We have 48 hours before the final and we are lucky to be able to pick from different options. We will see who is going to play.”

With the Blues preparing to take on PSG for the global title, Maresca noted that the squad is in high spirits.

“In this moment, the mood inside the changing room is fantastic, top,” he said. “The reason why is because they value what they have done during this competition and during the season, especially now in where we are here in this competition.”

He added, “When you start with 32 teams, and you are lucky to be here at the end with just two teams, they are proud and happy. I have the feeling we are ready to play this final on Sunday.”
