Federal Government Flagges off 2017/2018 Annual School Census.
The Federal Government has flagged off the 2017/2018 annual school census exercise aimed at enumerating all schools, teachers, facilities in the basic and post basic school levels in the thirty six states.
Speaking with newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja, minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu said the school census exercise will also help gather data for educational planning, decision making, National and global reporting.
He further appealed to stakeholders involved to diligently carry out their activities urging the head teachers and principals as custodians of school records to accurately complete the census forms.
Correspondent, Marian Enakhimion, reports that the Mallam Adamu therefore called for the cooperation and participation of the military, para military and private schools among others in this exercise so as to improve all schools environments in order to begin to solve problem of out “of school children”.
Theme of the event was tagged “Making every learner environment count, A palace for empirical data and solving the problem of out of school children syndrome in Nigeria”.
