TG/PS, EDUCATION DISTRICT II, VISITS NUT HOUSE, MODEL COLLEGES IN IKORODU

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the synergy between government and key stakeholders in the education sector, the Supervising Tutor General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike has paid a solidarity visit to the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) House in Ikorodu.
The visit, held in an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual respect, underscored Mr. Osinaike’s unwavering commitment to deepening collaboration with the NUT as a vital partner in advancing quality education and professional excellence across the district.
During his remarks, Mr. Osinaike emphasised the indispensable role of teachers in nation-building and reiterated the District’s resolve to work hand-in-hand with the Union to create a more enabling environment for teaching and learning.
“Teachers are the bedrock of our education system. Their welfare, training, and motivation are central to achieving our collective goal of academic excellence,” Mr. Osinaike stated. “The NUT remains a critical voice in shaping education policies, and we are committed to sustaining a relationship that promotes shared responsibility, progress, and impact.”
The TG/PS commended the leadership of the Union for their steadfastness and dedication to the development of public education.
The NUT Chairman of the Ikorodu zone, Comrade Femi Fakolade, in turn, appreciated Mr. Osinaike for the visit and pledged continued support and cooperation in ensuring the growth and success of education in the district.
Also, the entourage visited some model colleges in Ikorodu as part of its effort to monitor Schools’ activities, ensuring compliance with laid down rules of engagement and to ascertain the level of conduciveness of the academic environment in the District.
Schools visited by the TG/ PS included the Government Junior and Senior College, Ikorodu; Civil Service Junior and Senior Colleges, Oriwu Junior and Senior Model Colleges, all in Igbogbo, and also Lagos State Junior and Senior Model Colleges, Igbokuta.
This visit reaffirms the District’s vision of inclusive and responsive leadership that values collaboration, professionalism, and progress.
