The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that its national elective convention will be held on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The decision was reached at the end of the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which took place in Abuja on Thursday.

The convention is expected to produce a new set of national officers who will steer the affairs of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Although details of the agenda were not disclosed, party insiders say discussions around internal restructuring, reconciliation, and strategic planning featured prominently at the NEC meeting.

The choice of Ibadan, a key political stronghold in the South-West, is seen as part of the party’s broader strategy to consolidate support in the region.

Further updates on the convention logistics, including zoning arrangements and nomination procedures, are expected to be released by the party’s National Working Committee in the coming weeks.
