President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Super Falcons following their victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they secured a historic 10th title.
The Nigerian side pulled off a thrilling comeback on Saturday night in Rabat, Morocco, overcoming the host nation with a 3-2 win in front of a raucous home crowd to claim the championship.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised the team’s display, describing it as a powerful reflection of the resilience and indomitable spirit of the Nigerian people.
Tinubu said, “The Super Falcons’ spectacular performance tonight in Rabat, coming from behind to beat a spirited Moroccan side playing in front of a passionate home crowd, exemplifies the determination that defines the Nigerian spirit.”
“With hard work, dedication, and tenacity, you have achieved the mission the nation dreamed of and prayed for. The nation looks forward to welcoming our champions. Congratulations! Nigeria celebrates you,” he added.
